Great Trail Council Boy Scouts –
Disability Awareness Merit Badge Training

** This event has been postponed due to recent health concerns surrounding large public events and the spread of the corona virus (COVID-19). More information will be released soon.

(The event was originally scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2020)


Note: Scouts will receive their Application for Merit Badge (blue card) at the end of class.  There is no charge for this training.

Space is limited to 60 scouts. Registration will close once training is full.


Time
7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. Registration/Continental Breakfast

8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Training Session


Location

Goodwill Service Center, 570 E. Waterloo Rd., Akron


Prerequisites

Please complete the following steps prior to the training on April 4th.

  • Visit your school, place of worship, or scout camp site and take notes about accessibility.
  • List 5 things that could improve accessibility.
  • List 5 things that make the accessibility friendly to visitors and/or staff.

Please note, parents are welcome to stay for the event, otherwise pick up is at 11:30 a.m.
