AKRON, Ohio — Nov. 10, 2016 — Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties, along with honorary event chairs Chuck and Corrine Tennent, raised more than $90,000 at its 11th annual Taste of Vintage gala fundraiser.  All net proceeds support Goodwill’s mission to help individuals prepare for, find and retain employment in our community.

The event held on Nov. 3, 2016, was attended by nearly 600 guests and honored the philanthropic efforts of Thom and Lisa Mandel in the greater Akron community.  Guests enjoyed food tastings offered by a variety of restaurants and specialty businesses, silent and live auctions, as well as a showcase of fashions from the early 1900s to 1990s from Goodwill’s Vintage Collection.

“We truly are appreciative of the generosity of our guests, many in honor of Thom and Lisa,” said Chuck and Corrine Tennent.  “Their support ensures Goodwill can continue its work in the community to help individuals prepare for, find and retain employment.  We couldn’t have achieved this success without the help of our many sponsors, restaurants, specialty businesses and volunteers.”
