AKRON, Ohio — Nov. 12, 2019 — Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties, along with honorees Kim and Chas Schreckenberger, raised more than $80,000 at its 14th annual Taste of Vintage gala fundraiser. All net proceeds support Goodwill’s mission to help individuals prepare for, find and retain employment in our community.

Kim & Chas Schreckenberger – Honorees

The event held on Nov. 7, 2019, was attended by nearly 500 guests and paid tribute to the philanthropic efforts of Kim and Chas Schreckenberger in the greater Akron community.  Guests enjoyed food tastings offered by a variety of restaurants and specialty businesses, silent and live auctions, as well as a showcase of fashions from the 1940s to 1980s from Goodwill’s Vintage Collection.

“We truly are appreciative of the generosity of our guests, many in honor of Kim and Chas, who have together devoted 15 years to Goodwill’s board,” said Nancy Ellis McClenaghan, president & CEO, Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties.  “The support we received ensures Goodwill can continue its work in the community to help individuals prepare for, find and retain employment.”
