Fall Fashion Trends

FallTrends1The leaves are changing and so is your wardrobe.  Here are a few of my favorite fall trends that can easily be incorporated into your closet.

High on my radar is this season’s need for utilitarian style.  It is rugged and easily translates into a fall color palette.  Army green and deep oranges are key to adding this trend to your look.  I found a beautiful Ann Taylor Loft orange cardigan and orange flats (never worn- I should add), which will pair nicely with jeans and basic t-shirts.  I also found hunter green welly boots (and on a  happy side note, all shoes were two dollars off), and an army green coat, that I am over the moon about.  I would consider all of these items staples.

FallTrends2Next up, don’t be afraid to mix and match!  As I was standing in the checkout I found the cutest Star Wars t-shirt.  Fun pieces like these really show personality in your wardrobe and that is why the Goodwill is so fun, you really gravitate toward your own style. Another  fun piece that can’t go unmentioned is this fun burlap USA bag I found.  I can’t wait to take it to a farmers market.

LastFallTrends4ly, I want to mention a trend that always seems to sneak in around fall, menswear inspired fashion (emphasis on inspired).  Oversized sweaters, tailored blazers, masculine print, and muted neutrals.  Goodwill is the place to source this one.  You can find a plethora of sweaters (like the grey V-neck, pictured) to pair with leggings and boots, for a casual look.  This is personally my favorite fall trend.

I am going to leave you with a small tip.  If you think Goodwill can be overwhelming, it can. There are so many things, what do I look for? Where do I start?  Go through a magazine or two and pull pictures of styles and silhouettes you favor.  Bring them with you on your next shopping trip, or bring a friend that can help you spot similar styles.  You will be amazed at the things you find.

Happy fall shopping!
