Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties is excited to announce it will be participating in an upcoming event designed to boost community engagement among Akron’s recent college graduates and young professionals on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014.
Connect2Akron (C2A) is a free event designed to facilitate meaningful connections between local non-profit organizations and young people interested in giving back to our community. Attendees will have the opportunity to network, mingle and learn more about becoming involved with Goodwill and other non-profits in attendance. Several types of opportunities will be available, including:
– A wide variety of volunteer activities
– Board/junior board membership applications
– Ad-hoc committee membership applications
– Unique pro-bono requests
For example, perhaps you know a young graphic designer willing to donate some pro-bono work, or a budding event planner willing to join a fundraising committee, or a young professional interested in learning about non-profit board work. Our local non-profit organizations will benefit from the extra help, and individuals may gain experience and receive personal satisfaction by becoming more deeply connected to our community.
