Goodwill’s vocational services staff provides everything needed to find and retain employment, including job placement assistance.

Provides assistance with resume preparation, completion of applications and interviewing skills and assists in determining a community job that will be appropriate for an individual.
Builds relationships with employers that lead to permanent positions for Goodwill’s participants. Services to the employer include: education accommodations that may be needed for the employer including background checks and drug screenings.
May pay the individual minimum wage while he/she is given the opportunity to try a job specific to vocational placement goals.
Provides follow-up services to monitor an individual’s performance and to ensure job retention. Follow-up occurs at 15, 30, 60, 90 days and 1 year after the individual is working independently.
Will Coach and/or Shadow individuals trained at a job site in Goodwill’s service area to insure the success of long-term employment and also may allow individuals to observe an actual job to be sure that it fits with vocational goals.
Provides individualized Travel Training designed to assist an individual in achieving his/her vocational goal through the appropriate and safe use of public transportation.
