Outplacement Orientation
It is very difficult when a company has to lay off employees, but at times it is a necessary fact of life in an economic downturn or highly competitive business environment. A primary organizational goal of Goodwill’s Employment Resource Center is to minimize the impact of such a reality. We accomplish that goal through the actions of our Job Placement and Case Management professionals, comprehensive Job Search Center, on- State approved Training Services, the Ohio One-Stop system and our links with, and knowledge of, other community-based agencies.
We can offer support for lay-offs and plant closures. Orientation may be provided at plant, union hall, or at our facilities:
- Employee Counseling
- Access to retraining
- Job preparation help
- Job search help
- Goal Assessment
- Access to One-Stop services
- Financial counseling
- Placement assistance
- Access to job search resources
- Entitlement counseling
Benefits of Outplacement Services:
- Relieves stress – employee and employer
- Saves money & increases productivity
- Results in earlier re-employment
- Reduces unemployment insurance draw
- Reduces impact to other community based agencies
Our Employer Services Team is part of the local Rapid Response Team. We may be able to arrange for the local Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to provide on-site briefings concerning unemployment re-employment services and benefits.
